Sun-kk is celebrating the 70th anniversary this year.
I was born in the next year Sun-kk was founded.
So I will be 69 years old this August.
69 years. It’s a long time.
When you live long, you experience a lot of things.
I have some sad memories.
But I have many fun memories.
I had new discoveries and fun every day when I was a child.
You also have fun memories, don’t you?
Don’t you think time passes more quickly when you are older?
I’m sure that time passed more slowly when I was a child.
I don’t get moved and touched very often now.
Now, I often do the same things every day.
I don’t get excited as often (as before).
It’s called “Manneri” in Japanese.
It seems that time goes faster when the things repeat over and over.
This is a photo of management director Mr. Aruga and me trying to fly our radio control airplanes.
Maybe I was a high school freshman and he was a university freshman.
We could fly model airplanes in the rice fields at that time.
This photo was taken with Olympus Ina factory behind us.
Do you see a chimney of Tokiwa-reito behind us?
It looks very pleasant and we had a good time. It was very peaceful.
We flew our airplanes every holiday.
But our airplanes didn’t fly.
Because the engines didn’t start.
Because the quality of fuel was bad, the engines didn’t start.
But it was very fun.
I can hardly get such an experience these days.
And there are difference of time not only between a child and an adult, but also between past and now.
The difference between old time and present is about the changes.
The speed of change is getting fast every year.
For example telephones.
We had a wired telephone called black telephone in the old days.
A shoulder phone was made in 1985.
It was so big at that time.
Pokebell was also popular at same time.
You may not know about pokebell.
Do you know “pokebell” ?
We saw a very rapid change from Garakei to smartphone.
And the change from analog to digital was not so long ago.
PC became popular rapidly. Now we are having an age of smart media.
And soon 5G will come.
The speed of changes is getting faster.
It is hard to keep up with such changes.
We need a lot of power to keep up.
But we cannot always keep our power full-throttle.
Recently “mental disease” is increasing.
To avoid it, we need to learn how to switch from On to Off.
